Advisory Council (State Reps)

The NCJA Advisory Council helps the Board of Directors formulate and guide the policy and direction of the association. The Advisory Council is composed of the SAA from each member state and 12 elected Regional Representatives. Council members select the Board of Directors and NCJA Officers.

The Elections Committee works to recruit candidates and ensure a full slate of nominees for regional representative and the presidential and vice presidential elections.

Victims Services Committee

The four goals of the Committee are to:

 

  1. Provide the important perspectives and voices of crime survivors and the professionals who assist them to NCJA’s Board of Directors and staff.

  2. Identify promising practices, policies and protocols that are survivor-centered and trauma-informed, which can be considered for replication or adaptation by NCJA’s members.

  3. Support NCJA’s ongoing efforts to promote public policy that helps crime victims understand and implement their rights, and that enhances their personal safety, autonomy, and proactive involvement in justice processes.

  4. Support the efforts of NCJA’s Board of Directors and staff in training, program and policy development, and partnerships that can help improve the lives of crime victims and survivors, and strengthen the capacity of the professionals who assist them in system- and community-based agencies and organizations at the Federal, Tribal, national, state and local levels.
