Representing Criminal Justice Agencies on Public Safety Issues
The National Criminal Justice Association (NCJA) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, non-partisan, member association dedicated to assisting criminal justice agencies in the development and implementation of effective criminal justice policy. Our members represent all facets of the criminal and juvenile justice community, including law enforcement, corrections, prosecution, defense, courts, victim and witness services, and academics, as well as elected officials.
Mission and Policies
The NCJA exist to promote the justice systems that: enhance public safety, prevent and reduce the harmful effects of criminal and delinquent behavior, adjudicate defendants and sanction offenders fairly and justly, and that are effective and efficient.

The Forum on Criminal Justice showcases programs, research and technologies that help justice practitioners and decision makers in states, local communities and tribal nations address pressing public safety issues.

Leadership Committees
Working to promote a balanced approach to complex public safety and criminal justice system issues. Our governing body is comprised of high-level state, territorial and tribal officials and regional representatives from across the country.

Connect2Justice (C2J) is a virtual community for NCJA members to ask questions, share ideas, and network with colleagues. C2J houses discussion forums, shared libraries, event calendars, a searchable member directory, and a library of funding solicitations.
Training and Technical Assistance
Our staff has extensive experience in the areas of statewide strategic planning and strategy implementation, stakeholder engagement, federal grants management and administration, and data management and information sharing.

The NCJA staff supports its members by providing updates about pending legislation and the federal appropriations process, and by communicating with federal officials about how federal policy affects the delivery of services to the field.
