Organizational Memberships

 

We have many different option for organizational memberships with a wide range of benefits including: news and updates about federal legislation and policy; access to a regularly updated library of funding solicitations; registration discounts for our annual conference; access to our online member community and members only content; and so much more.

College and University Memberships

College and University memberships are open to any department of criminal justice, criminology, political science, public policy, sociology, law school or other related department that is engaged in helping students in the field of criminal justice (or a peripheral field) at a college, community college or university. 

 

Member benefits are available for a select number of faculty, students or staff, based upon dues level (see below). Benefits include:

 

  • Subscriptions to the Justice Bulletin, our weekly online newsletter (select number of individuals) 

  • Subscriptions to Info Letter, a weekly online government affairs newsletter (select number of individuals)

  • Access to Connect2Grants, our regularly updated library of justice-related funding opportunities (select number of individuals)

  • Access to Connect2Justice, our members-only portal which includes members-only resources and discussion groups (select number of individuals)

  • Free registration for NCJA’s Quarterly Policy Discussions and Government Affairs Updates 

  • Ability to attend NCJA’s annual Public Policy Summit 

  • Discounted registration rates for the annual Forum on Criminal Justice

  • Opportunities to serve as regional representatives on the NCJA Advisory Council as well as be elected or appointed to the NCJA Board of Directors

  • Voting privileges in NCJA elections

  • Opportunities to submit research and articles for inclusion in NCJA publications and on panels for NCJA sponsored events

  • Opportunities to provide national leadership through participation in NCJA activities and committees

  • Opportunity to interact with state, tribal and local justice leaders

  • 1-6 faculty, students or staff receiving benefits: $500

  • 7-9 faculty, students or staff receiving benefits: $700

  • Additional memberships can be purchased for $75 per person

State/Local Goverment Agency Memberships

State or Local Government Agency membership is open to any state, city, county, or regional government entity except those state administering agencies that administer the Byrne Justice Assistance Grant program.

Member benefits are available for a select number of agency employees, depending upon dues level (see below). Benefits include:

  • Subscriptions to Info Letter, a weekly online government affairs newsletter (select number of staff)

  • Free registration for NCJA’s Virtual Quarterly Policy Discussions and Government Affairs Updates for all staff of member agencies

  • 7-9 employees receiving benefits: $700

Tribal Government Memberships

Tribal Government membership is open to members representing the government of federally recognized Indian tribes who are appointed by the appropriate senior tribal official.​

Criminal Justice Planning Board Membership

Criminal Justice Planning Board membership is open to state and local planning boards, criminal justice coordinating councils and other multi-jurisdictional criminal justice planning bodies. ​

The corporate membership category is open to corporations, businesses, industries, and other private for-profit entities providing products or services to justice agencies.  Membership should not be seen as an endorsement of any product or company.

Corporate memberships for $2,500/year and includes member benefits for up to six employees. Additional memberships can be purchased for $75 per employee.

State Administering Agency

The State Administering Agency (SAA) membership is open to the 56 SAAs who administer the Byrne Justice Assistance Grant program. Members representing the states are appointed by the governor of the state or territory or by the mayor of the District of Columbia as Criminal Justice System Representatives (CJSR) and who are the full-time senior-level employees of the state whose responsibility is the direction of systemic criminal justice planning, coordination, management, research, training, and/or technical assistance.
