Bethany Broida
Director, Communications
Bethany Broida is NCJA’s Director of Communications. In this capacity, she develops and implements the association’s communications strategy and oversees the membership department. She serves as the editor for the association’s publications and is responsible for NCJA’s member benefits and services. She also leads the planning for NCJA's annual conference, the Forum on Criminal Justice, and the NCJA Public Policy Summit and manages NCJA’s strategic partnerships with the NCJA Crime and Justice Research Alliance and Crime and Justice News.
Bethany is a veteran journalist and communications professional. Prior to joining the NCJA, she was a reporter at the Legal Times in Washington, D.C. Her journalism career has included covering criminal justice and education issues for a variety of publications including the Baltimore Sun, the Maryland Daily Record, the Chronicle of Higher Education and the Capital News Service. She also served as a writer/editor and communications manager for the National School Supply and Equipment Association.
Bethany is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and has served as an ASAE Gold Circle Award Judge which recognizes extraordinary marketing, membership and communications efforts. She received her bachelor’s degree in magazine journalism from Boston University and her masters in journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park.
