The monthly totals: January: 34, February: 36, March: 42, April: 57, May: 63, June: 65,July: 89, August: 63 and September: 30. There were 488 mass shootings by this date last year, according to the Gun Violence Archive. The archive never had logged a month of 60+ mass shootings before 2020. It happened five times in 2020, six times in 2021, and now four times so far in 2022. September is on pace to do the same.
