Mental Health Dissertation Research (Texas)

The Frances Fowler Wallace Memorial Award supports doctoral dissertation research on �the cause, treatment, cure and prevention of mental disease, mental illness and mental disorders.� Relevant areas of focus include historically underserved populations, rural communities, prevention and early intervention, social determinants of health and mental health, and community conditions that influence mental health and well-being. Award recipients must provide a copy of the final dissertation to the foundation. Doctoral candidates in nursing, psychology, social work, sociology, and other fields relevant to mental health programs at institutions of higher education in Texas are eligible to apply.
