Criminal Justice Grants (New York City)

The Bernard F. and Alva B. Gimbel Foundation makes grants to tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organizations operating in NYC that focus on efforts to promote fair and effective criminal justice policies, to reduce recidivism, and to improve public safety. Among these are sentencing reform initiatives including repeal of mandatory minimum sentencing laws and increased use of alternatives to incarceration. Grant decisions are made in December and June.
