David is the CEO of San Francisco Pretrial Diversion Project, a non-profit, community-based organization that has provided case management, supervision and client support services for justice-involved populations since 1976. Through lengthy collaboration with San Francisco’s justice system, SF Pretrial has provided industry-leading alternatives to fines, criminal prosecution and detention. Their mission aligns with the goals at every level of the San Francisco criminal justice system: ensure that individuals charged with a crime appear for trial, receive the support they need to succeed and contribute to the safety of our communities. SF Pretrial has been consistently acknowledged nationally, statewide and locally for leadership in bail reform and pretrial innovation. For over thirty years, David’s work has been connected to the criminal justice system, with a focus on systemic change, gangs, community development and violence prevention. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Pretrial Service Agencies and National Criminal Justice Association.
