Stand Down Events for Veterans

The U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL), Veterans' Employment and Training Service (VETS) supports local Stand Down events that help homeless veterans attain meaningful civilian employment, offering a variety of services and incentives, including temporary shelter and meals; clothing; medical exams; legal advice; benefits information; and more. Eligibility is open to State and Local Workforce Investment Boards, Public agencies, non-profit organizations, including faith-based and community-based and neighborhood partnerships with familiarity with the area and population to be served and the ability to administer an effective and timely program.
