North Carolina Body Armor Grants

The NC League of Municipalities/Risk Management Services, through the workers compensation insurance pool, helps pay the cost of providing body armor for police officers. The policy is to reimburse members up to 50% of the cost of police body armor, subject to a maximum of $250.00 per garment. Members are entitled to reimbursement for a maximum of 10 garments per agency per fiscal year. Each participating municipality must have one member of its Police Department/Public Safety Department trained in the selection, use and maintenance of body armor.
