Gun Violence Prevention - Great Lakes Region
The Joyce Foundation approaches gun violence reduction from a public health perspective, and addresses gun violence in all its forms (homicide, suicide, accidental shootings, nonfatal shootings, mass shootings, etc.) The Foundation supports three essential building blocks for comprehensive and effective firearms policies: 1) public education to achieve stronger state gun laws; 2) building coalitions of law enforcement; communities of color and others impacted by gun violence; and 3) research to inform evidence-based gun violence prevention policy. Projects must impact the Great Lakes region.
