Regional Strategic Planning Training
The NCJA, in partnership with the Bureau of Justice Assistance, will host a series of regional training sessions to help SAAs meet the new strategic planning requirements that will be part of the FY19 Byrne Justice Assistance Grant applications. This training will focus on the elements of successful strategic planning, evidence-based practice, data and analysis for policy and program evaluation, and coordination with other components of the juvenile and criminal justice system.
Upcoming Training Sessions
March 14-15, 2019 @ the Connecticut Department of Transportation in Newington, CT
This training will be held at the Connecticut Department of Transportation training facility from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm ET. Space for these training sessions is limited, and registration is on a first come first served basis. In the event we approach capacity, a restriction of one attendee from each state may be applied. Travel assistance is also available for states that need it. To ensure all SAAs have an opportunity to attend, no more than two people from any one SAA will be permitted to register at this time. If space is available, registration will be opened to additional team members from registered states.
There are a number of hotels near the training facility. The closest hotel is the Holiday Inn Express in Newington. Participants are asked to book their room directly with the hotel of their choice.
Limited travel scholarships are available for those SAAs who would be unable to attend without financial assistance. If you need scholarship assistance, expenses will be paid by you/your agency and reimbursed by NCJA following your completion of the training. Scholarships are limited to the following:
- Airfare up to $600
- Hotel - 2 nights at federal per diem ($128) + tax
- Meals and incidentals - 2 full days ($61) + 2 travel ($45.75) max
- Ground transportation up to $100
