Federal Surplus Real Property for Public Use

This grant is sponsored by the U.S. General Services Administration. Federal real estate properties that are no longer needed by the federal government may be made available for public uses to state and local governments, regional agencies, or non-profit organizations. Property may be transferred to public agencies and institutions at discounts up to 100 percent of fair market value for uses that include public health or education; homeless assistance; correctional institutions; self-help housing; and law enforcement and emergency management response. Eligible applicants are: state and public agencies; nonprofits; public airports; educational activities of interest to the armed services; and qualifying special categories.
