Letters to Congress
Guided by a 17-18 member Board of Directors, the NCJA serves as the
formal mechanism for informing the Congress of state, tribal and local
criminal and juvenile justice needs and accomplishments. To
see some of the letters the NCJA has sent to Congress and the

In addition, NCJA has sent a number of letters to Congressional
leadership regarding budget and appropriations priorities. Those

Current Letters
NCJA sent a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee expressing our
views on the reauthorization of the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency
Prevention Act. View

NCJA joined with a coalition of other groups in asking the leadership
of the House and Senate CJS appropriations committees to include $100
million for the Second Chance Act in FY2010. View

On August 3, 2008 NCJA submitted comments to the Office of Management
and Budget on the proposed guidance to agencies on the implementation of
