Subgrantee Risk Assessment

As part of its monitoring of the Recovery Act implementation, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) has selected 16 states for special oversight.  NCJA convened a conference call among the SAAs who administer Byrne/JAG funds in those states to discuss the process.  During the most recent call states discussed risk assessment of sub recipients. Some of the participants in the call agreed to share risk assessment information from their state.  The following SAAs provided Risk Assessment Instruments they have used with their subrecipients:

AZ Audit Requirements in Grants

AZ Single Audit Checklist (Excel)

MI Risk Assessment Form

IL Risk Assessment Form

IL Risk Assessment Blank Form (Excel)

IL Risk Assessment Criteria Explanations

In addition, we have posted the Sustainability Checklist developed as part of the Community Based Strategic Planning Training NCJA offers through the Pickett Institute for Criminal Justice Planning.
